The WEEKND WENT AGAINST HIS LABEL'S WISHES & hit A BILLION STREAMS ON SPOTIFY

After Hours reached 100 million streams in it’s first day. The digits continued to expand in the upcoming days, which led to The Weeknd achieving 1 billion streams on Spotify.

It is being reported that The Weeknd didn’t listen to the urges of Universal Music Group executives when he released his After Hours album. Republic Records has been said to have begged the singer to delay the LP because of the current coronavirus pandemic.

People in prominent positions throughout the industry thought the album would flop since it couldn’t be marketed in the way they would like. The Weeknd was obviously right to release his album now since it is projected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
